Prequalifying a Submission

You can prequalify a submission from the New Submission window or from the Overview tab of the submission. (If you do not see a Prequalify Submission option in the New Submission window or the I want to section of the submission Overview tab, the Carrier has not enabled prequalification.)

To prequalify a submission:
  1. Complete the New Submission window, and select Prequalify Submission. (The Prequalify Submission option is active on the New Submission window only after you have completed the other required fields.) A Prequalify Submission window appears. (The content of Prequalify Submission form varies, based on the product and the carrier requirements.)

    Note: You can change the size of the Prequalification window by clicking on any of the sides or corners and dragging until the window is the size you want.

  2. Complete the required fields. If you want to check clearance as part of the prequalification, select Check Clearance, and then enter the FEIN in the field that appears.
  3. Click Submit. Geaux indicates whether the submission is within the risk appetite. If you checked clearance, the Check Clearance results also display.

    Note: If the prequalification fails for more than one reason, all of the reasons display. If multiple rules or multiple conditions within one rule provide identical prequalification failure reasons, however, the reason will appear only once in the Prequalification Details field.

  4. If you want to perform the prequalification again, click Prequalify Again to return to the Prequalify Submission input form. (Geaux clears the previous data from the input form when you click Prequalify Again.)
  5. If you do not want to proceed with creating or updating the application, click the icon to close the Prequalify Submission window (or click Cancel on the New Submission window).

  6. Click Create Submission (if you started the prequalification from the New Submission window) or Update Submission (if you started the prequalification from the Overview tab of an existing submission) to update the application forms with the data you entered on the Prequalify Submission Input tab.

    Note: If the Prequalification results indicate that the prequalification was not successful, you can proceed with creating or updating the submission. If you do, the submission status reason for the submission will indicate that the prequalification failed, and the Carrier will likely decline the submission.
