Resubmitting Applications from the Prior Year
You can resubmit submissions that were lost or declined in the prior year. Within 90 days of the expiration date of the original submission, a Resubmit Submission option appears on the submission’s Overview tab..
To resubmit a submission:
- From the Overview tab of the submission that was lost or declined, click Resubmit Submission. A confirmation window appears.
Note: If submission modifications are pending, the Resubmit Submission button is not active.
- Click Yes. A progress bar appears while Geaux creates a new Draft submission based on the lost or declined submission, and a Resubmitted Application notification pop-up message appears.
- Click OK. The Overview tab of the new Draft submission appears.
- Review and update the application information, as necessary, and then click Submit on the Application tab when you are ready to submit the application for underwriting.
While creating the new draft for resubmittal, Geaux updates the information on the Overview tab as follows:
- Copies the Producer and Agency/Brokerage values from the prior to the new submission. If the prior Producer is Inactive, Geaux sets the Producer to the Default Producer for the Agency/Brokerage.
- Copies the Underwriter from the prior to the new submission. If the prior Underwriter is Inactive, Geaux does not display an Underwriter.
- Sets Assigned To user to blank value.
- Removes any Service Contacts on the new submission.
- Sets Renewal? to No.
- Sets Automation to Not Eligible.
- Copies the following values from the prior submission:

- Profit Center
- Branch
- Coverage
- Sets the Created and Modified dates for the new submission to the date and time when the user clicked Resubmit.
- Sets Created By to Agency.
- Sets the Effective date of the new submission to the expiration date of the prior one.
- Sets the Expiration date of the new submission to one year after the new effective date of the new submission.
- Removes any Needed-By date on new submission.
- Removes the Received date on new submission.
- Creates a Prior button next to Submission Number on the new submission to link to the prior submission.
- Creates a Next button on the prior submission next to Submission Number on the prior submission to link to the new submission.
Note: If the user deletes the resubmitted draft submission, Geaux removes the Next and Prior buttons that linked the submissions.
Geaux also copies all fields from the Application forms from the prior Submission to the new submission with the following exceptions:
- Adds one (1) to the Years In Business field value on the General Information form.
- In Prior Carrier and Loss History Form (exact name of the form varies slightly by product and implementation) blanks out the entries under Current Policy and moves them back one year. Any entries in the oldest policy year are deleted. If the information exists in row repeaters, Geaux deletes the data only if there is more data than there are rows to hold the new data.
- Removes all previous Detailed History items related to the prior submission from the new submission.
