Declining Binding

After you receive a quote for a submission, you can either decline it or request that the Carrier user bind coverage for it.

Note: If the Underwriter has already proceeded to initiate binding for the proposal, you will not have the option to decline binding.

To decline binding:

1. When the submission is open, click the Proposals tab. The Proposals tab appears.
2. Double-click the proposal that includes the new quote (the status for the proposal is Received Quote). The Received Quote window appears.
3. Review the quote cover letter and quote.
4. If you want to decline binding, click Decline to Bind. A confirmation window appears.
5. From the Reason list, select a reason for declining the coverage.
6. In the Comments field, enter and add any optional comments about the reason for declining the coverage.
7. Click Yes. The proposal status becomes Proposal Declined, and the Underwriter is notified by a What's New message that you have declined binding. The submission appears under Quoted on your home page.
