The Underwriting Management home page

The Underwriting Management Home page provides content according to your organizational role, your responsibilities, and your activities. From this page, you can begin your work of submitting, updating, and approving applications.

From anywhere in Underwriting Management, you can return to the Home page by clicking Home at the top-left of the window.

Layout

The Home page contains two sections:

  • Menu bar at the top, which includes the following:

    • Guidewire Underwriting Management logo

    • Home button, which you can click to return to the Home page from anywhere in Underwriting Management

    • Tab for submissions you are working on in this session. If you are working on more than one submission, a drop-down icon on the right side of the tab provides access to a list of the submissions you have open.

    • Header taskbar, which includes the following:
      • New Submission button

      • Help icon — Opens a drop-down menu that provides access to the Underwriting Management online help and the About UM screen.

      • Chat icon — Provides a list of recent chat notifications. For more information on chat, refer to Collaboration tools: Chat.

      • Notifications icon — Provides a list of recent notifications. For information about notifications, refer to Notifications.

      • Your profile and credentials — Opens a drop-down menu with options for updating your user profile, preferences, credentials, and a Logout option. For information about the options available from the profile and credentials menu, refer to Your profile and credentials.

  • The widget workspace, which may contain one or more of the following:

    The widgets that appear on the Home page vary, depending on the system configuration and your user role.

Customize the widget workspace

The widgets you see are preconfigured, but you can customize the workspace.

Icon Action Details

Move icon.

Move

Move a widget by hovering over the widget title bar until the cursor changes to the move cursor. Then, click and drag the widget, and drop it in the new location.

Resize icon.

Resize

Resize a widget by hovering the cursor over the bottom-right corner of widget until the cursor changes to the resize cursor. Then, click and drag the widget to resize it.

Settings icon.

Settings

Access a menu of options for the widget by clicking the Settings icon and then selecting the option you want to use.

Page browser

Click a page number, Back, or Next in the page browser at the bottom of a widget to view additional pages of content for that widget.
